Scuba Diving in Cozumel at Chankanaab Park

 The park is open from 9 am to 5 pm. Arrive early and enjoy a full day of activities! 

This adventure is perfect for non-certified or beginner scuba divers.

At the dive shop, you’ll check in and take part in a brief class (about 30 minutes) covering how to use scuba gear, equalize ear pressure, basic underwater skills, hand signals, and essential safety information—all taught in a fun, relaxed way. Once geared up, you’ll enter the water and begin getting comfortable with your new experience, enjoying the “no-gravity” feeling and learning how to move easily underwater. One or more certified scuba instructors will be with you at all times.

The dive area features beautiful reef formations and marine gardens filled with tropical fish, coral, and more. Sunken statues of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Christ, the Mayan rain god Chaac, and historic Spanish cannons rest on the sandbars, making for incredible photos. Depending on the season, you may also see sea turtles and eagle rays feeding in the seagrass. The entire area is clearly buoyed to ensure the safety of both swimmers and divers.

The Beach Club includes: A free sea lion show at the dolphinarium, beach chairs, beach palapas (huts), hammocks, a Pre-Hispanic replica area, a Mayan House, tropical gardens, life jackets, bathrooms & showers. ​ 

 

Requirements: 

• Participants must be at least 12 years old with a guardian’s signature.

• Guests should be in good health and able to perform moderate physical activity.

• All participants are required to complete a medical questionnaire and sign a liability release form.
